Privacy Policy

JokeDay is operated by Around The Hoop Holdings, LLC (“we,” “us,” “our”). This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how we protect it.

What we collect

• Phone number — to send your daily joke via SMS and to verify your identity.
• Humor preferences — comedians, shows, and question answers you select during onboarding. Used only to match jokes to your taste.
• Timezone — detected automatically so we send at a reasonable hour in your local time.
• Payment information — processed securely by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
• Usage data — which jokes we sent you (so we never repeat one), delivery status, and anonymized funnel analytics.

What we do NOT collect

• We do not collect your name, email, location, contacts, or any data from your device beyond what is listed above.
• We do not ask for feedback, ratings, or replies. Ever.

How we use your data

• To send you one joke per day via SMS (1 msg/day).
• To personalize joke selection based on your stated preferences.
• To process payments and manage your subscription.
• To send transactional messages: verification codes, payment reminders (max 3 during trial), and subscription confirmations.

Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your phone number or personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. We share data only with:

• Twilio — to deliver SMS messages.
• Stripe — to process payments.
• Supabase — to store your preferences securely.

Message & data rates

Message frequency: 1 message per day, plus occasional transactional messages (verification, payment reminders). Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier plan.

Opt out

Reply STOP to any message to immediately and permanently unsubscribe. Reply HELP for support. You can also cancel through your account portal at any time.

Data retention

If you unsubscribe, we retain your phone number on a suppression list to honor your STOP request. All other data is deleted within 30 days of cancellation.

Security

Your data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. We use managed infrastructure with no local storage of sensitive data.

Children

JokeDay is not intended for users under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes

If we update this policy, we’ll post the new version here with a revised date. Material changes will be communicated via SMS.
